Asham Indigo and her young rider kicking goals in Tasmania!
There is a very exciting partnership developing between Asham Indigo and her young rider Lucy Johnston down in the Emerald Isle.
A little over 12 months ago Asham Indigo was purchased sight unseen and made the journey to Tasmania and it seems that Lucy and her ‘Indi’ are proving a formidable combination!
Competing in everything from Pony Club, Showing and Dressage to Eventing, Hunting and Showjumping as well as numerous clinics the pair are having ‘so much fun’ according to Lucy’s mum Sarah.
Lucy and Asham Indigo have qualified for the Tasmanian EA State Dressage Championships to be held in March promptly followed by the Tasmanian Pony Club State Eventing Championships. Then in April they will be competing in the Tasmanian Pony Club Dressage and Showjumping Championships!
Huge achievements for such a new combination and full credit to Lucy for the work she has put in to chase her dreams!
We are also so excited to hear that Sarah competed ‘Indi’ at the Masters Games in Showjumping coming home with a Bronze Medal. Congratulations Sarah, the versatility of this young mare is a true testament to the Connemara breed!
Asham Indigo is a daughter of our foundation stallion Glenormiston Bartley and yet another of his progeny to excel in the performance horse world. She was bred, raised and broken in here at Asham Connemaras & Sporthorses and exhibited an exceptional temperament right from the start, furthermore her willingness under saddle made her the complete package.
In a testimonial kindly written for our website Sarah Johnston wrote … ‘Indi has been the perfect addition to our Esk Farm menagerie and has attended Pony Club and regular lessons since arriving in Tasmania in December 2021. She has to date been near to foot perfect and I am sure that her outstanding temperament has a lot to do with the brilliant start that all involved with Asham Connemaras have given her as well as Lisa’s dedication to providing quality, well bred horses for sale.’
We would like to congratulate Lucy on all her achievements so far and Good Luck for her upcoming Championships!
We are just so thrilled with the amazing home that she has found!
