Asham ponies in the Spotlight!
What an exciting week watching a number of our beautiful ponies feature across the country!
Huge congratulations to Skye McKewin for winning not only the National Partbred Connemara in the CPBSA awards but also to be selected as the new Ranvet Junior Ambassador from over 360 applications nationwide! All this following on from a hugely successful weekend at the Orange Anglican Grammar School Interschools where Skye and Slip were the 60cm Combined Training Champions, Reserve Champion Primary Open Rider, Rider in Action Champion, Primary 60cm SJ Champion and Most Successful Primary Rider among other event wins!
Skye and Slippery are achieving amazing results following on from his equally successful partnership with Abbey Holcombe and to think all this started when he was the 1st pony to be broken in by Sam.
We couldn’t be more proud of this cracking little palomino pony who was one of the very first ponies bred here at Asham Connemaras & Sporthorses!
To secure the double in the National Partbred Connemara category is something that we are so very proud of!
Congratulations to Lucy Johnston and the beautiful Asham Indigo on being awarded the National Runner Up in the CPBSA Awards in her very first year of competition! Lucy and Indi have been competing in a huge range of disciplines from Eventing to Showjumping, Hunting to Dressage and even the Show ring. Speaking to Lucy’s mum Sarah she said ‘Lucy loves sharing Indi with junior riders and giving them confidence on a bigger horse. Indi has her own following of juniors, she is the special grey unicorn’.
In another accolade, Lucy and Indi featured in a recent edition of ‘Country Style’ magazine with her teammates winning the Working Hunter Team Event at the 185th Campbell Town Show in the Midlands of Tasmania!
Lucy is doing a fantastic job with Indi and again we are so very proud, Asham Indigo will always be fondly remembered at home as one of the sweetest young mares with talent to burn!
With over 360 applications received in the above mentioned Ranvet Junior Ambassador search, Ranvet decided to award 6 Highly Commended prizes, one of which was secured by Jemima Southwood riding Asham Fireman! Sam, as he is affectionately known, is competing across the disciplines mainly concentrating on Eventing and Showjumping and based on the Northern Rivers in NSW. Jemima & Sam recently qualilfied for the Qld State Interschools Championships in all five disciplines finishing the event with the highest overall pointscore in Years 7-9 and winning the Finch Farm Perpetual Trophy. The combination have also been selected to ride for Qld in the National Interschools Championships at Werribee in September. Simply amazing achievements in their first solid year of competition. Congratulations Jemima & Asham Fireman, you’re certainly making us all very proud!
Asham Fireman is a member of an illustrious band of brothers by Glenormiston Bartley. He is a full brother to the highly successful Asham Riverman and Asham Iceman as well as the yet to compete Asham Superman. All with beautiful soft temperaments it is a line of horses of which we are very proud.
