Glenormiston Firinne
2006 Grey Mare (Abbeyleix Finbar x Glenormiston Rosslea by Oxenholm Gideon)
HWSD Status: N/N
Height: 14.1hh
Registration: #1846
We purchased Glenormiston Firinne from Sue Clarke as a weanling. A very elegant filly, we were looking for the blood of Abbeyleix Finbar to add to our future broodmare band.
Finbar is a three-quarter brother to Coosheen Finn and Leam Bobby Finn and like them has produced many fine ponies throwing his temperament, type, correct conformation, ability and movement. Finbar himself, enjoyed a fruitful career in the show ring, winning innumerable championships and supreme championships as well as competing with great success in harness and pony jumping. He has a number of successful stallion sons in Australia, USA and New Zealand.
Glenormiston Firinne is a half sister to our stallion Asham Duntroon, both being out of Glenormiston Rosslea by the imported Danish stallion Oxenholm Gideon. Gideon was a highly respected performance pony winning the Showjumping at Brookfield Show in Qld every single year he competed, beating many top showjumpers!
Glenormiston Rosslea is out of the imported English mare Millfield’s Seaspray who has left a dynasty of ponies around the world. Glenormiston Roscrea, a full sister to Rosslea was exported to the USA where she has produced some amazing ponies and is one of the top broodmares at Wildwych Connemaras in Colorado.

Glenormiston Firinne’s son Asham Hazy Fletch has just completed his 2nd ever show and his first show under saddle. Congratulations to his owner Jess Cameron on an absolutely phenomenal show with Fletch scooping the pool at the APSB Pony of the Year Show in Victoria!
Asham Hazy Fletch competing under Jess’s sister Georgie came home with 4 Championships from 4 classes and ultimately Grand Champion! Fletch was crowned Champion APSB Senior Led Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year, Champion APSB Ridden Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year, Best Presented Connemara, Champion Led Male Connemara, Champion Ridden Connemara and the Grand Champion Rare Breed of the Show!
Jess Cameron said ‘I am absolutely on Cloud 9 and just couldn’t be prouder of my little wonder pony. He has given me my love of horses and riding back and I can’t wait to get out in the ring with him myself soon … Thank You also to the many old and new friends for being so complimentary of my Fletchy, he is my absolute heart horse and everyone’s kind words about him meant so much’.
Congratulations Jess and Fletch which are so proud of what you have both achieved and look forward to following your future together!
